Word of the day: 11 They forgot what he had done, the wonders he had shown them. Psalm 78:11 NIV

When we create memories, sometimes we tend to forget them. Most of us use cameras, phone cameras, videos, whatever can allow us to remember memories. Down the road, when you are looking at photo albums, you can remember the memories behind. Ironically, my mother texts me an old picture from over 15 years ago. I only got two sentences in before she did that. Here is the overall point. The way we go about capturing our memories, let’s do the same with God, but in a way that satisfies him. I see a lot on social media about how people catch scriptures, different testimonies. These are an excellent way to remember God and memories he creates for us. For it to be eventful, we have to follow and trust God in his plans. The goal is to be faithful, not to be in our selfish ways to gain temporary pleasure. We can gain permanent pleasure with God when we are abiding by him.

Father, thank you for today. I pray for memories with you and with our family and friends. Let us remember you in our memories. Thank you for your love. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

My name is Darren. I started sharing devotions in June 2019. As one of the ministry leaders at my church. One reason why I started devotions is because of the lack of inspiration and motivation in our lives. It is hard to be encouraged with a lot of negativity going around. I invite you to be encouraged by the word of God. Our struggles can be personal, at the workplace, and the lack of community in our lives. When we go through hard times, we need the word of God. Please read them and be encouraged. I also started a podcast talking about racism and discrimination. Please take a moment to check that out as well. Afternoon Coffee Break with Darren Watts.
