Word of the day: 67 “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve. 68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.” John 6:67-69 NIV

Reflect: Take a moment and think about how you follow Christ. If you don’t, when will be an excellent time to follow him? Follow him and obey the word, or don’t follow him and see how your life is after leaving him.

Discussion Board: It’s normal to feel lost and confused. You can feel lost and confused with Jesus and let him help you find your way back. Or you don’t follow Jesus and see the results of that. It is the freedom of choice that allows us to make the right choice or the wrong choice. I have said on numerous occasions that most people are not fit to be a leader. What I want to elaborate on is that God can turn anybody into a leader that is willing to listen. Saul is an excellent example of that. He didn’t allow God into his heart. You have to be willing to let God in for good things to happen. That also includes learning how to follow him. To be effective leaders and listeners for God, we must accept his word and allow him in. To help others lead, we can help to move them from curiosity to commitment.

Takeaway: Stay the course. There is always confusion as to why God does the things he does. Stories always come with conflict. It’s your story you will share at some point in your life. What are your takeaways?

Prayer: Father, thank you for today. I pray for our faith will be more reliable for you. There are so many challenges that arise for most of us and doubt. Let us understand your word not to have those doubts. Thank you for our fellowship. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

My name is Darren. I started sharing devotions in June 2019. As one of the ministry leaders at my church. One reason why I started devotions is because of the lack of inspiration and motivation in our lives. It is hard to be encouraged with a lot of negativity going around. I invite you to be encouraged by the word of God. Our struggles can be personal, at the workplace, and the lack of community in our lives. When we go through hard times, we need the word of God. Please read them and be encouraged. I also started a podcast talking about racism and discrimination. Please take a moment to check that out as well. Afternoon Coffee Break with Darren Watts.
