Word of the day: 14“If you’ll hold on to me for dear life,” says God…16 I’ll give you a long drink of salvation!” Psalm 91:14, 16 MSG

Meditation: Process your thoughts to this passage. Meditate on how God blesses you by holding on to him.

Discussion Board: Broken challenges, unhealed hearts, broken promises can all be discouraging. God can fix all of these when you hold on to him. The long drink of salvation is your life forever in God’s hands. If you change your oil, your engine will be useful to you. If you rotate your tires and change them, it will roll properly. These are commitments to taking care of your car. If you hold on to God as you do your car to get from point A to point B, you will forever be with God. In the book of Psalm, David describes all gifts he received from God. Abundant blessings, a crown of pure gold, long life, splendor and majesty, everlasting grace, and gladness. Remember that just because God is quiet does not mean that he is condoning sin, he is preserving his judgment. Circling back to the beginning of this discussion, God can fix anything you need a fix. You have to depend on him to make it happen. Keep hanging with God to receive the best from him.

Takeaway: God loves us; he created us to be necessary. Being with God allows us eternal life with him. There is nothing more you can ask for than that. What are your takeaways?

Prayer: Father, thank you for today and our fellowship. I pray we can stay with you for eternal life. Your blessings are what I count on. You continue to amaze us with your work. We don’t deserve, yet we still get your love and blessings. We should live life with you forever. Thank you for your passion. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

My name is Darren. I started sharing devotions in June 2019. As one of the ministry leaders at my church. One reason why I started devotions is because of the lack of inspiration and motivation in our lives. It is hard to be encouraged with a lot of negativity going around. I invite you to be encouraged by the word of God. Our struggles can be personal, at the workplace, and the lack of community in our lives. When we go through hard times, we need the word of God. Please read them and be encouraged. I also started a podcast talking about racism and discrimination. Please take a moment to check that out as well. Afternoon Coffee Break with Darren Watts.
