God’s Day

June 14, 2020

Word of the day: 1 The Lord reigns, He is clothed with majesty; the Lord is robed, He has girded Himself with strength and power; the world also is established, that it cannot be moved. 2 Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting. Psalm 93:1-2 AMPC

Meditation: Today is flag day. It is a day that the United States celebrates the adoption of the flag in 1777. Do you have a moment of celebrating your version of flag day? The day of your baptism?

Discussion Board: The adoption of the United States flag took work. The meaning of the flag, the rules on flag day, and how to celebrate it. Have you declared your God’s day? The day you got baptized is God’s day in my eyes. How did you learn about God? You had to learn a lot about Jesus for you to understand how he works. You did not go right in and get baptized; it took time, talking to others, and studying to know him so you can decide to give your life to him. Jesus reigns every day in our lives. We rejoice in our sorrows, our thanks to him, any mood we feel. The day you got baptized is the day God had planned for you. When he created this earth, he did it because of his love for us. He created light for us to see. God created the heavens and the waters, land, and vegetation, the sun, moon and stars, fish and birds, animals, man, and food. I praise him for allowing us to enjoy nature and all the things he created for us.

Takeaway: Like how people celebrate flag day, have your day with God by celebrating your day of baptism. What are your takeaways?

Prayer: As flag day is a holiday, I pray for our celebration with you. Let us take the time to celebrate it. You are holy. Thank you, Jesus, for all you do.

My name is Darren. I started sharing devotions in June 2019. As one of the ministry leaders at my church. One reason why I started devotions is because of the lack of inspiration and motivation in our lives. It is hard to be encouraged with a lot of negativity going around. I invite you to be encouraged by the word of God. Our struggles can be personal, at the workplace, and the lack of community in our lives. When we go through hard times, we need the word of God. Please read them and be encouraged. I also started a podcast talking about racism and discrimination. Please take a moment to check that out as well. Afternoon Coffee Break with Darren Watts.
