More Than a Building

Word of the day: 23 Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and truth, for they are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks. 24 God is Spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and truth.” John 4:23-24 NIV

Discussion Board: The Holy Spirit can speak to us anytime. Not just church, but in your home, workplace, friends, store, etc. Most churches use the building for worship. There is more to the church than a building. If the Holy Spirit can speak to you any time of the day, why are most people confined to inside the church only? The church is you conducting to your community. God is not physical around us, meaning he is not limited to one place. He is everywhere. The church should be everywhere. How we worship him solely depends on your ability to give him praise and share it with others. Romans 8:26 reminds us the Holy Spirit prays for us; John 14:26 teaches us the words of Christ and Romans 5:5 reminds us we are loved. Our worship for Christ will be in Spirit, and you will not be alone when you are worshipping him.

Prayer: Father, I pray you to fill us with the Holy Spirit. Remind us that the fruits of the Spirit are joy, love, peace gentleness, goodness, meekness, faithfulness, and self-control; the Spirit is how we act. I pray you will shower us with the Spirit. Let us fill your anointing and your power. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

My name is Darren. I started sharing devotions in June 2019. As one of the ministry leaders at my church. One reason why I started devotions is because of the lack of inspiration and motivation in our lives. It is hard to be encouraged with a lot of negativity going around. I invite you to be encouraged by the word of God. Our struggles can be personal, at the workplace, and the lack of community in our lives. When we go through hard times, we need the word of God. Please read them and be encouraged. I also started a podcast talking about racism and discrimination. Please take a moment to check that out as well. Afternoon Coffee Break with Darren Watts.
