Sincerity Having Peace Instagram Post. 05/02/2022 8:00am

8-10 The women, deep in wonder and full of joy, lost no time in leaving the tomb. They ran to tell the disciples. Then Jesus met them, stopping them in their tracks. “Good morning!” he said. They fell to their knees, embraced his feet, and worshiped him. Jesus said, “You’re holding on to me for dear life! Don’t be frightened like that. Go tell my brothers that they are to go to Galilee, and that I’ll meet them there.”

-Matthew 28:8-10 The Message

Verse 8: So they departed quickly from the tomb with fear and great joy and ran to tell his disciples.

Verse 9: And behold, Jesus met them and said, “Greetings!” And they came up and took hold of his feet and worshiped him.

Verse 10: Then Jesus said to them, “Do not be afraid; go and tell my brothers to go to Galilee, and there they will see me.”

Verses 8-10 studies: Jesus told the women to pass the message that he would be in Galilee to meet the disciples. But the disciples were afraid to meet up with Jesus because of the religious leaders. So Jesus met them in Jerusalem and then in Galilee later (John 21).

28 But after I am raised up, I will go before you to Galilee.”

-Mark 14:28 ESV

Jesus Appears to the Disciples

19 On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, “Peace be with you.”

-John 20:19 ESV

Jesus Appears to His Disciples

36 As they were talking about these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace to you!”

-Luke 24:36 ESV

“Brethen” may have meant for disciples. Jesus had forgiven the disciples because of their denial of Jesus and deserted him. As a result, their relationship is more potent.

My name is Darren. I started sharing devotions in June 2019. As one of the ministry leaders at my church. One reason why I started devotions is because of the lack of inspiration and motivation in our lives. It is hard to be encouraged with a lot of negativity going around. I invite you to be encouraged by the word of God. Our struggles can be personal, at the workplace, and the lack of community in our lives. When we go through hard times, we need the word of God. Please read them and be encouraged. I also started a podcast talking about racism and discrimination. Please take a moment to check that out as well. Afternoon Coffee Break with Darren Watts.
