Obedience

April 11, 2020

Word of the day: 19-20 Choose life so that you and your children will live. And love God, your God, listening obediently to him, firmly embracing him. Oh yes, he is life itself. Deuteronomy 30:19-20 MSG

In today’s verse, Moses is encouraging all of Israel to choose life, obey God, and then can experience God’s blessings. Remember one thing; God does not force us to make these decisions. It is the choice of freedom we all have to make decisions. If you choose to live life by yourself, it is your choice, but don’t be surprised by the results. Choose to live life and listen and honor God; you can live a better life full of blessings. Let’s understand one thing here; there will be situations that can turn you away from God. The idea here is to live with God and obey, and even during your storms, he can provide. You will have to live right by him. He will test you and will remain quiet during the test. It is up to you how you respond. That is his test to see how faithful you are to him. Today, follow God regardless of your situation. Celebrate him when there are happy times and stormy times. Don’t celebrate him only when you have wealth. God is life, and that’s why we all give our lives to him.
Father, thank you for today. Thank you for allowing me to struggle to write this. I never know what to say with these devotionals, but I get through them by your grace. I pray that someone is getting something out of these devotionals. Thank you for our experiences in life. We love you. We give you praise. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
