Word of the day: 1 O God, listen to my cry! Hear my prayer! 2 From the ends of the earth, I cry to you for help when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of safety. Psalm 61:1-2 NLT

Do you depend on God? If you do, how do you rely on him? In today’s verses, David wrote this psalm far away from home. He felt away from God, but the one thing we can be thankful for is that God’s goodness is anywhere and not in specific quadrants of the world. David depended on God in his writings and prayer. When we have a situation on our hands, do we look to ourselves to solve our issues? Or do we go to God? Have you realized that going to a trusted friend that believes in God is another way to depend on God? That friend can point you to ways to let God show up in your life, or pray for you to help you depend on God and make his actions work afterward. I know some of you are saying, “Yeah, whatever. Most of what he wants out of us is not matching with scripture.” That’s fine, but I can tell if you are having a hard time because you can’t think straight, I can promise that trusted friend that believes in Jesus, will make sure that your challenges match scripture.
Father, thank you for today. Thank you for our fellowship. I pray for our community. There are trusted friends who believe in you, but others that don’t. I pray for the challenge to come together as a community and those that can’t find the solution to their problem biblically that you can point them to someone that can depend on you. Thank you for your love. In Jesus’ name. Amen!

Introduction Post

Hi. I am Darren Watts. I started doing devotionals back in June of 2019. Why did I decide to start a blog? I did it for several reasons.

  1. The Holy Spirit kept nudging me to start doing devotionals. With the push of a couple of ladies at my workplace, forced me to start sharing not only with them, but through a blog.
  2. Satan gave me a thousand reasons not to share. My information is wrong, don’t launch a blog, you will make a complete fool of yourself. To this minute, I still feel this way, but when I think back to number 1, when the Holy Spirit is nudging you to do something, don’t question it, just do it!
  3. With all the negativity in the world, I can’t sit here without sharing what I learn from the Bible each and everyday when I read it. Instead of spreading negativity, it is time to spread joy.
  4. I am an introvert and private. In order for me to share God’s word, I have to start somewhere.

If I am able to achieve reaching out to people, I would like to continue doing this as part of God’s plan for me. I do not know his plan. I have to follow him in order for me to do what is right for him.

Thank you for your time, I am looking forward to sharing devotionals with you.
