Word of the day: 24 I tell you the truth unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new seeds—a plentiful harvest of new lives. 25 Those who love their life in this world will lose it. Those who care nothing for their life in this world will keep it for eternity. John 12:24-25 NLT
Meditation: The plan seed you put in the ground? You watered it and watched it grow. Take a moment and think about when someone planted a seed in your head. How did your seed grow?
Discussion Board: God has his reason for why he wants us to listen to others that we trust. God planted something in them that he wants you to embrace and take action on. You can miss out on many things if you don’t listen. It is self-centered when God speaks, and nothing happens. Commit to him so you can see the planted seed and act on it. Embrace your seeds, so it doesn’t die. Foolish people will do anything not to plant seeds if it means success from God. This type of behavior we have to get passed. Your passions are what God planned for you. Don’t make excuses, do it! The reward is not life’s reward, but it is the reward of Christ and his life. Have you seen happiness in life’s rewards? Leisure, power, popularity, financial security? If you have, it may have been temporary. Here is a challenge as we follow Christ. Is anybody willing to lose their life to follow Christ? The self-centered plan we have for ourselves is you ready to lose that so God, the Creator, can make sure you will live the way he wants you to live it?
Takeaway: What life do you want to live? There is one you planned, and there is one God prepared for you. Think about it before making that decision. Your life plan has consequences. The one God intended will have a lot of uncomfortable moments but will allow you to understand happiness and selfless acts of care.
Prayer: Father, thank you for today. I pray for us as we continue to live life. We have options on how we want to live. It is freedom of choice. It’s what you gave us. It shows the faith we have in you if we pick the right choice. I pray our options is a wise one. Thank you for our fellowship. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
