Word of the Day: As you enter the house of God, keep your ears open and your mouth shut. It is evil to make mindless offerings to God. Don’t make rash promises, and don’t be hasty in bringing matters before God. After all, God is in heaven, and you are here on earth. So let your words be few. Ecclesiastes 5:1-2
This verse spoke to me and how I meditate and pray. This past week and this week, every time I went into mediation for prayer, the one thing I did that probably is not necessary while I am meditating and praying. Playing music. I thought it was a good thing to help mediate, this verse told me differently. Music can distract me on what God is trying to talk to me about. Quiet time is time alone with God, removing all distractions. I tend to talk a lot to God without him letting his words into me. It’s almost like a closed mind. Be humbled, and open-minded when approaching God for prayer and meditation. Something happened at work yesterday where I took a moment and prayed. I had to do it right there on the spot and did it humbly. Romans 12:2 is the verse I found to help me get through the day. Brief wording is don’t copy other people. Materialistic, attitude, whatever the case is at that point. Don’t seek revenge. Pray and let God take it from there. Let him transform you, bring wisdom and see it differently.
Father, you are good. Thank you for another day. Thank you for this time together of reflecting and learning you more and more every day. I come to you today to keep me sane. I almost lost it yesterday completely. Being out of character is not something I display and Romans 12:2 reminds me not to be of the world. Be the church. You are not finished with me or anybody that is following in your footsteps and will make mistakes. Help us all. I thank you for Annie and Belinda for allowing me to share the word with you, help them grow, help them have the open heart to let your words flow in them and how refreshing it can be before tackling a difficult day ahead of us. You are good and I give you all the praise! In Jesus name, I pray, Amen!
